Cisco has set the dates: the last window to renew a support contract runs until May 2, 2027, with final end of support on May 31, 2027. Software patches and updates stop even earlier, on May 2, 2026. This isn't a rumor, it's an official timeline.
And TMS isn't the only one on the list. Microsoft Teams Rooms running Windows 10 have already lost their security updates since October 2025, and some certified hardware (Lenovo Hub 500, HP Slice G2, Surface Pro 5) simply can't be upgraded to Windows 11; it will need to be replaced. Two separate end-of-life waves, but landing on the same IT teams at roughly the same time.
For Cisco TMS, three credible options exist, and they don't necessarily rule each other out. Mividas covers the core of TMS's functions, with full endpoint administration and European hosting, for functional continuity without disruption and a more controlled migration cost. Synergy SKY focuses on universal interoperability, a single button to join Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or Webex, in the cloud, on premise or hybrid. VQ Conference Manager remains a relevant option for environments still heavily structured around Cisco Meeting Server, though with a more complex deployment and generally higher budget, and no support for Pexip infrastructures. Nothing stops you from combining several of these options depending on your use cases rather than looking for a single replacement.
At its core, Mividas doesn't just replicate TMS as is. The architecture is modular rather than monolithic, integration with Microsoft 365 and Exchange is native, and GDPR and eIDAS compliance was built with the European public sector in mind, with SSO authentication, MFA, and real-time dashboards. In practical terms, this means faster deployment, reduced dependency on a single vendor thanks to multi-platform support (Cisco, Microsoft, Pexip), and sovereign compliance for organizations that need it.
For Windows 10, the logic is the same: rather than replacing hardware at every software end-of-cycle, switch to open SIP systems (Cisco, Poly, Lifesize) that can join any platform without depending on a specific OS. A longer lifespan, and a better return on investment.
